My first post!

So... where do I start? Well, most of you who are reading this probably already know me so no need for introductions! I'm in Korea of the Southern variety, I eventually got here after 24 hours of travelling! The layovers were a pain... was in Dublin for 5 hours waiting for my flight to Frankfurt, but Franfurt was the most tolerable because I got to sample some frankfurters and the local beer ;).

It was an unreal beer!

Got on the plane at Frankfurt and 10 1/2 hours later I finally got to Incheon airport in Korea. When I got there I got some dose of culture shock... everybody was staring at me 'cause of the "foreign" look I now possess haha! Anyways, I eventually came across this guy with my name on a piece of cardboard. He was sound out! Bought me food and my bus ticket and waited around for an hour to make sure I got on the bus ok! Two hours on the bus and I get to Cheonan... which according to Koreans is a small city... it's clearly NOT small! Very big, and I haven't seen a foreigner yet bar the ones working at the school (granted I've only been here a day and a half, but still!) It's a very "Asian" looking city...which is to be expected I suppose, but still awesome to look at!

I haven't got that many photos of the place yet cause I haven't had the chance to explore outside of about 500 meters squared, but hopefully you get the picture!
I was picked up at the bus station in Cheonan by the second in command of the School, Stephen (not his real name, but every Korean person at the school gets an English name when they start working there).
He brought me to the school which has about 500 students. All of which are there just to learn English. I met my boss straight away, he seems like a sound man loves to chat about anything and everything! He informed me that I was having a welcome party on Friday night, I will post about that when the time comes!
For the last two days I have just been shadowing the guy that i'm replacing. Basically sitting in the back of the class and learning from example how the English teaching is carried out at the school. It can be boring at times... i'm looking forward to just starting and getting that first week out of the way!
After school yesterday I was brought to my Motel where I will be staying until Saturday (thats when my apt. will be ready). The Motel is interesting to say the least...am....just watch the video below!

First off, I would like to apologise for the poor quality of the video... hopefully I will get it right the next time!

Second off, let me explain where I am staying for the week... It is known as a "Love Motel". These Love Motels are very popular throughout Korea, basically if a couple are feeling a bit frisky they can come in to one of these hotels at any time of the day or night for 10 minutes or 1o days depending on their desires, and how much they're willing to pay! The vending machine sells those "gadgets" at about €8 for one! It's just many of those cultural features that amaze me and all the westerners i've talked to! I wonder how these "Love Motels" would go down in Ireland...
